CITY OF REEDS SPRING SEWER SMOKE TESTING

🚧💨NOTICE TO RESIDENTS: CITY SEWER SMOKE TESTING💨🚧

Beginning July 8th, the City of Reeds Spring will begin smoke testing portions of the sanitary sewer system throughout the community. Additional testing dates will be announced as crews continue through different areas of town, as the entire city cannot be completed in one day.

So… what exactly is smoke testing? 👀

This process helps identify leaks, breaks, and improper connections in the sewer system to improve service and protect our infrastructure. The smoke used is SAFE, NON-TOXIC, NON-STAINING, and poses no fire hazard.

🏠 WHAT RESIDENTS MAY NOTICE:

• Smoke coming from roof vents

• Smoke near manholes or storm drains

• Smoke entering homes or buildings if plumbing traps are dry or faulty

💡 To help prevent smoke from entering your home:

• Pour water into unused floor drains or sinks

• Make sure plumbing traps contain water

• Keep windows closed if desired during testing

⚠️ IF YOU SEE SMOKE INSIDE YOUR HOME:

Please contact the City of Reeds Spring immediately or notify Stone County Fire Dispatch so crews can verify the issue.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to improve our sewer infrastructure and continue serving our community well!
